Leave a Nest Capital Invests in Ichthion

2024.02.19

Leave a Nest Group has invested through Leave a Nest Capital Co., Ltd. in Ichthion Limited (Head Office: Staines Upon Thames, England; CEO: Dr. Inty Andrés Grønneberg Ipiales; hereinafter “Ichthion”), a startup from Imperial College London.

Ichthion is focused on the development of technologies to prevent macro and micro plastics entering into the phytoplankton growth areas in coastal zones, and for the reclamation of plastics in the ocean. Its main business is centred around the Azure System, a technology designed to extract plastic waste from rivers and prevent it from reaching marine environments.

Its relationship with the Leave a Nest Group dates back to 2018 when Ichthion was invited as one of the finalists at TECH PLANTER 2018 UK. Leave a Nest Group has been conducting the TECH PLANTER program in the UK since 2017, to discover, nurture and create an ecosystem for Deep Tech startups. Through this program Leave a Nest has been supporting startups like Ichthion to meet potential business partners and boost their growth.

Leave a Nest Group has decided to invest in Ichthion due to their shared dedication to protect and restore ocean ecosystems to create a future where marine life can flourish and its resources can continue to be responsibly harnessed for generations to come.

With this funding, Ichthion aims to expand its business with a focus on enhancing the capabilities of the Azure System through Japanese Super Factories’ Monozukuri in collaboration with Leave a Nest.

Moving forward, Leave a Nest Group will continue  their efforts to create deep tech solutions addressing marine pollution and contribute to global happiness.
